Aimy was born in Chicago, Illinois and went on to become an actress, dancer, educator, arts administrator, and production and stage manager. She was well known for intricate hair braiding and custom crochet apparel. In her later years she committed her life to caregiving for her parents the late Hershell Mhoon, Sr. and surviving mother, Juanita Mhoon. She was a mother of 2, Princess Kamura Mhoon & Prince Anubis Mhoon, and five grandchildren: Tashi (19), Akili Jr, (17), Amari (17), Amira (14), and Thandi (11).
Aimy was passionate about her community, her faith, friendship, the arts, and the upliftment of Black people. She was known for helping others and was always willing to lend a hand.
This memorial website is dedicated to her memory, and serves as a space for friends and family to share their memories of her. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life and legacy.
